Isn’t it amazing to have F1 race at the city centre of Baku, between the Caspian Sea and the architecture where the authentic and modern are in harmony? Isn’t it something to have the cars cruise in the roads of the old city before they go along the coast at 100m per second? Isn’t it remarkable to have volunteers coming from everywhere to make this event work? And how does it feel to live in the middle of F1?

F That! (2022)
F1? F that! It makes traffic in the city centre a nightmare that lasts for a few weeks. It’s even worse for people who live within the circuit, with narrow passages and a few ugly bridge-cages to the outside world, not to mention engine noise and the smell of burnt tyres. F-that, they say! And while the drives get millions, volunteers pay for their travel to be “part of the thing”. Rich celebrities are paid by the consumer and the middle-class, and the poor are just invisible!
